Architecture, Craftsmanship and a Shared Vision
Some collaborations happen because two people admire each other's work. Others happen because they share the same way of seeing the world.
Our collaboration with architect Cezar Moldovan grew from a common appreciation for architecture, honest materials and timeless design. From the very beginning, the goal was clear: create a collection that felt architectural in its proportions, sculptural in its presence and refined enough to live comfortably in exceptional interiors.
That vision became In Situ.
Designing Through Architecture
Every piece in the collection begins with an architectural idea.
Instead of designing furniture first, we explored space, structure, balance and light. The objects were imagined as elements that belong within architecture, shaping the atmosphere of a room rather than simply filling it.
The name In Situ reflects this philosophy. It speaks about objects that feel connected to their surroundings, naturally becoming part of the spaces they inhabit.
Turning Ideas Into Objects
Transforming architectural concepts into furniture requires more than good design. It requires craftsmanship.
Working closely with Cezar, every detail was refined through countless conversations, prototypes and material studies. Curves, proportions, junctions and finishes were carefully adjusted until every element felt effortless.
At Arbore, these ideas came to life through the expertise of Carel Woodworks. More than 25 years of experience allowed us to produce pieces that remain true to the original vision while meeting the highest standards of quality.
A Collection Built Around Materials
Wood, stone and stainless steel are used with intention throughout the collection.
Rather than competing for attention, each material highlights the character of the others. The warmth of timber sits alongside the precision of metal. Natural textures meet clean architectural lines. Light moves across every surface, revealing new details throughout the day.
The result is a collection that feels calm, tactile and enduring.
A New Direction for Arbore
In Situ represents an important milestone in the evolution of Arbore.
It introduced our first collectible furniture collection and established a new creative direction—one where architecture, craftsmanship and contemporary design come together to create objects with lasting value.
Produced in carefully controlled quantities, each piece is made with exceptional attention to detail, allowing us to focus on quality rather than volume.
Looking Ahead
In Situ is only the beginning.
Our collaboration with Cezar Moldovan continues to explore new ideas, new forms and new ways of bringing architectural thinking into furniture. Together, we share the belief that great design should feel timeless, meaningful and beautifully made.
Every new piece builds on that same foundation: thoughtful design, honest materials and craftsmanship refined over generations.
With In Situ, we set out to create furniture that people would want to live with for decades. We believe that is the true measure of timeless design.
